As the sun sets on 2022, I want to express my gratitude to you for continuing to follow along. I hope you learned something new or were introduced to a new artist through the blog this year. I’d also like to thank the artists and collaborators I worked with this year, and the organizations who trusted me to contribute my writing and expertise.

In June I joined the board of directors of Critical Distance Centre for Curators as board Co-Chair. I’ve long admired the work that CDCC does. CDCC is a not-for-profit gallery, publisher, and professional network devoted to the support and advancement of curatorial inquiry in Toronto, Canada, and beyond. With a focus on critically-engaged, collaborative, and cross-disciplinary practices, underrepresented artists and art forms, and community outreach and education in art and exhibition-making, Critical Distance is an open platform for diverse curatorial perspectives, and a forum for the exchange of ideas on curating and exhibition-making as ways to engage, inform, and connect people and publics across cultures, disciplines, geographies, and generations. In 2023 CDCC will celebrate its 10th anniversary.
I curated six shows at Mind’s Eye Studio Art Gallery. Artist interviews are linked below:

If you came through the gallery this year, thank you. You helped to make each exhibition and artist reception memorable. More exhibitions and memory building loading for 2023!
I want to know what your art related highlights of 2022 were. What are you most excited for in 2023?
